My Life In Pictures: Spring 2018

Spring is definitely and finally here so today I'm sharing a few recent photos from my camera roll.
I left off my usual watermark, go ahead and save or use them as you wish 😎

Beautiful trees covered in flowers.

Turkey hunting season was here and my Dad likes to hunt down state.  He always brings back specialty chocolates, which I appreciate much more than wild turkey πŸ˜‰

One of the best parts of spring?  Morrell season!  These wild mushroom are absolutely delicious.  You can purchase them (expensively) in some restaurants and grocery stores, but finding them yourself is a lot more fun.  This batch was found by my Dad and he gave them all to me 😁😁😁

My Mom's pretty pansies.

We have some new friends in one of our front yard bushes πŸ˜ƒ

My babies are making sure that I always have a vase full of flowers 😍

These photos were taken by Husby.  It's not uncommon for him to bring me home hand picked bouquets, but sometimes he can't get them to me in time before they would wilt.  In that case, he snaps a few photos and sends me those instead 😍😍😍

Winter Photography & Decor 2018

Welcome to a winter decor update!
Today I'm sharing a couple of family photos as well as a bit of my winter decor, enjoy:

Sledding Photos

One of my favorite ways to decorate is to use personal photos.  I have tons of pictures that I change in and out with every season/holiday/ etc.  Most of them feature the kids faces so in the interest of maintaining their anonymity, I'm only sharing a couple, but aren't these sledding pics adorable?!?!

I love the way that photos can help establish a certain mood within a space.

Snowflakes

I'm still using these old snowflake boxes that I purchased from Wal-Mart over 16 years ago!

Snowballs & Ice

The faux ice was a treasure hunting find.  The snowballs I made by gluing faux plastic snow (also found treasure hunting) to Styrofoam balls (Dollar Tree).

Baby Mittens & Hats

I am so glad that I saved the kid's cute little hats and mittens!  I love being able to pull them out every year and remember their tiny hands and faces 😍

(Husby isn't concerned with anonymity so I'm letting one of his ice fishing photos slip through here 😎)

Snowflakes & Winter Florals

My Baby Girl made the snowflake cut-outs at school during a previous year.  The white velvet poinsettias are left over from the welcome baby party that I had for my Little Man.

(You can click here to read more about that party)

Ice & Snow

Another snowflake cut-out and the rest of the faux ice and snow dress up this corner of the kitchen.

Easy to Create Photo Backdrop - 4th of July

With each change of season and (new holiday), I really enjoy taking photos of my kids.  Not only does this give me adorable reminders of their growth, but I also like to use their themed photos as part of my seasonal decor.

Since it's almost time to celebrate Independence Day, I thought I'd share how to create this easy backdrop that I used for last year's photos.

Where I Started

I take photos all over the house, yard and neighborhood, but this time I settled in the dining room.   Here is a before shot so you can see what I started with.  I chose this room for the tall book cases and large table.

Step 1

After removing the chairs I pushed the table up against the shelves.

*My summer decor has changed a bit since this photo was taken,
you can click here to see the updates 😊

Step 2

Next I pulled a white sheet to serve as a plain background and attached it to the top of the shelves.

Note:  I don't recommend leaving anything heavy on top of your shelves that could fall off and hurt someone.  I made sure to remove everything from the top of the shelf before my kids actually climbed up here for their photos πŸ˜‰

Step 3

I pulled these big blue garlands out of storage and layered them on top of the white background.

*Remember these garlands from our Frozen themed birthday party?
You can click here to read all about that day.

Step 4

Then I added in a bit of red crepe paper.

*Yep, I still have crepe paper left over from our rainbow themed Kindergarten graduation party 😁
You can click here to read about that party.

Step 5

Lastly, I positioned a crate on top of the dining table.  This extra height gave more dimension to the photo than having both of my kids sit side by side.

And there it is, an easy to create photo backdrop all made with items from around the house😊

I hope you enjoyed this how-to post, thanks for stopping by!

Summer Photography - June 2015

Guess what?  I went and got busy again.

So busy that I missed my usual Tuesday blog post!  But that's ok, I had a really good reason.  I've been spending all my time snuggling my brand new baby niece!

I'll be updating soon with posts all about her welcome party.  But for now, here are some of the summer photos I have been taking.

(I left off my watermark, use and enjoy as you wish!)

Blooming Sage

 Chives

Who knew onions could be so pretty?

 Magenta Lilies

 Orange Lilies

 Hydrangea

 Morning Glory

The Sky

I am in love with the sky, especially at night.  There is nothing more peaceful to me than sitting out on my porch looking at the stars.

Those are the pics from my summer so far, hope you are all having a nice one too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Photography (2015)

Warmer weather means I've been taking the kids for walks in the sunshine.
It also means I've had the chance to take a few lovely Spring photos!

As usual, I've left off my watermark.
Feel free to save, use and share these photos as you wish!

Orange Tulips

These pretty little tulips are from my Mom's flower garden.

Forsythia

Another photo from my parent's backyard.

Hot Pink Crabapple

This is my most favorite tree ever.  Ever!!!
I love the way they smell :)

Yellow/ White Daffodils

Maybe I took this photo in my neighborhood.....Or maybe it was in the garden section of the Wal-Mart...Heeheehee!

White Blooms

I'm not sure what kind of three this is, but it sure was pretty!

Light Pink Crabapple

Almost as nice as the hot pink, but not quite ;)

Tiny Purple Grass Flowers

Ok, so these are actually probably considered weeds, but I loved collecting them as a little girl!

I hope you enjoyed these Springtime photos as much as I did taking them.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

My Life In Pictures/ Photography (Easter 2015)

With Spring in full swing I've had a busy few weeks around here, especially with our Easter celebrating.  Scroll on to see photos from what I've been up to.

(Some photos I did not watermark.  Feel free to use these as you wish!)

Apple Tart

Ok so this wasn't for Easter (we had it at St. Patrick's Day dinner) but how awesome is this apple tart made by my Father-In-Law?  Yep, I got to eat that :D

Easter Decor Bins

I decorated for Easter at the end of March.   So. Many. Eggs!
:D :D :D

(You can view my Easter decor by clicking here or here)

I also boiled a whole lot of eggs.....

.....and filled a whole lot of plastic eggs!

Sun Beam

I took the kids outside to do an Easter photo shoot and this sunbeam showed up in almost every picture!  I got a lot of cute photos of my kiddos too ;)

Jelly Beans!

These were too fun and pretty not to take a picture ;)

Bunny Peeps!

I used these for smoothies and to decorate my Easter cake and breakfast table.

(You can see photos of how these Peeps were used by clicking here)

And what is on the agenda now you ask?  A couple of garage sales, that's what!  I'll let you know if I find any good treasures ;)

Thanks for stopping by!
