Lalaloopsy Birthday - Making Invitations

I'm back today with the invitations for our Lalaloopsy birthday party, check them out:

Materials:
Pretty Paper

Remember that polka-dot wrapping paper I found treasure hunting?  It looks great paired with some hot-pink scrapbook sheets!

I used the plain pink as the base of the invitations with a bit of the polka-dots on top.

Buttons

I also pulled out the buttons that I purchased to use as table 'confetti' because they make great embellishments too.

(You can click here to read more about the buttons, paper and other supplies I purchased for this party)

Blossom & Petal Flowerpot

These little cuties decided to watch me work.  I bought them for decorating the top of the party cake and stashed them in the same container as the buttons.  Since they were there, I decided that they could join the fun :D :D :D

Step 1

The first thing I did was print up the invitation text.
I like to print about four sets per page and then cut them out.

In case you can't see it, here is the wording:

***Baby Girl is turning 7***
And you are SEW invited to a Lalaloopsy birthday party!
Date & Time
Location
***Dinner & dessert to be served***

Step 2

I cut the sheets of hot pink paper into three strips.

By cutting one sheet of standard sized paper in to thirds horizontally, you end up with strips that are the perfect size for standard letter envelopes.

Step 3

I also cut strips of the wrapping paper into sections the same size as the hot pink base paper.

Step 4

Once all of my strips were cut, I layered a piece of the polka-dot paper diagonally on top of the hot pink.  I used a glue gun to hold everything  in place.

Step 5

Then I trimmed off the excess polka-dot paper.....

Step 6

.....and layered the text on top of that.

Step 7

Once all of the paper layering was complete, I went back and glued on buttons to finish the look.  And there you have it; easy to make Lalaloopsy party invitations.

I hope you enjoyed this how-to post, thanks for stopping by!
