Treasure Hunting - July 2016

I have been finding lots of treasures this summer!
Check them out:

 Colorful Ornaments

Remember the Christmas tree I put up for the kids this past year?  These ornaments will be for decorating that little tree.  I found both of these boxes for a total of $2.

(You can click here to see the kids tree)
(You can click here to see the other set of ornaments that I will be mixing these with)

 Fancy Dish

I thought the kids would like eating ice cream out of this .50 glass dish.

 The Moon!!!

I love science, especially astronomy (...and psychology, biology, anthropology....)!  So when I found this geographically correct moon for $2, I had, had, had to get it for the kids room!

Not only does it look fantastic during the day, but it glows at night.....

.....I love this so much!

Candle Holder

When I saw this $2 candle holder I had to grab it.  Why?  Because it reminds me of Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast and I knew Baby Girl would love it as much as I do.

The only problem?  It's silver, not my favorite.  So.....

.....A bit of gold spray paint and it's perfect!

Cheese Plate

This super ugly, super old cheese plate was $1.  I bought it for the miniature glass dome and tossed out the rest.  Now I just need another small glass cake stand or plate ;)

Gingy Fun

For $1 I found a new gingy cookie cutter and a handful of gingy shaped foam cutouts.  These will make their way into my holiday kitchen.

Fun Story:  What else did I find at this particular garage sale?  A fire!  I was wandering around looking at everything when I kept smelling smoke.  And then I saw smoke, it was coming out of the top of a cardboard box.  It turns out that if you set a (very shiny) stainless steel stock pot in the bright sun next to a cardboard box and reflect the suns rays just so... the cardboard box will start to smolder.  I don't know what the moral of this story is other than to be very careful when you garage sale!

:D :D :D

Silicone Pie Mold

I was at a sale and saw this jumble of silicone in a bag for $2.  I felt like I wanted it but couldn't really tell what it was so I passed up.  I went to the next sale on my list (the fire garage sale) and found the same set again.  This time it was still packaged, never used and only $1.  I figured it was meant to be and brought it home :)

 Avocado Green Dessert Stand

I don't have an avocado green cake plate, and this one was only $1, so there you go.  I'm thinking it will be pretty on my Thanksgiving table.....

.....It's also really pretty with strawberries and white geraniums ;)

 Decorative Glass Jar

This jar is heavy!  And really pretty too :)
I found it for $1 and plan on using it on top of my dressing table.

 Holiday Ducks

These were a quarter apiece.  My most favorite, the gingy duck!

 Mini Heart Tin

This cute little tin was .50
I can't decide if I will actually use it for baking or if maybe I will spray it copper and hang it up somewhere.

 Tiny Cake Pans

Also for .50 I now have a set of 8 heart shaped miniature cake pans.

 Crystal Vases

This pair of cute little crystal vases was only .50!

 Cook Book

I have not read this cook book, but I did look at all of the pictures :D

It was $1 and I thought it would look nice next to my very own white ceramic cake stand.....

.....and it does :D

That's all the treasure hunting fun I have for now, thanks for stopping by!
